Total Guitar Nombra a los Stands HERCULES con el Premio "Best Buy"Enero
2003
Guitar stands are not sexy. Electric guitars, in the right hands, seem to take on an aphrodisiac quality and have been responsible for more wet panties than Barry White's back catalogue. But not guitar stands. At least, not until now. Let me explain. Sharing our office with two other guitar magazines means when one team gets its hands on something juicy, half the office come and drool over it. The last time this happened was earlier this year when a bunch of new Les Pauls arrived with breathtaking AAA-grade maple tops and Honeyburst finishes (yum). But this time everybody's getting all hot and bothered about the feat of engineering that is Hercules Stand's Auto Grab System (much sexier than it sounds — no, really). AGS comprises a double pronged grabber which your guitar's headstock rests on. The grabber's spring-loaded so when it takes the weight of your guitar, it slides down and causes two flippers (like the ones you get on a pinball machine) to slide up in front of the headstock and hold it secure. Of course, sitting your precious guitar on top of plastic or metal isn't going to do it any favors, so the grabber is coated in rubber. But what about the sensitive finish on my vintage Les Paul? you cry. Don't worry, Hercules has taken this age old problem into consideration and used Special Formula Foam (SFF) that protects your precious plank. The range starts with wall-mounting hangers, and goes all the way up to a triple-guitar stand that'll look dead flash on your next gig. These attractive stands fold up nicely too, making them highly portable and practical. If you don't already have stands for your guitars, you really should check these out now. And if you do, maybe it's time for some better-looking replacements. [SL] |
