Christina Stürmer

In May 2006, Christina Stürmer and her band were awarded the prestigious Austrian Amadeus Award, honoring her as "The Best National Artist in Rock/Pop" and for "The Single of the Year."

Born and raised in Austria, Christina developed her interest in music and playing saxophone and flute at a very young age. She learned music skills in choirs, jazz big bands and, later on, in cover bands and various projects. It was just a matter of time until she started her own cover band back in 2002.

Very soon, Christina became a new star in the field and in 2003 her first single "Ich lebe" (I Live) dominated the charts, with more than 9 weeks at the top. Her first album "Freier Fall" (Free Fall) soon followed and established her as one of Austria's leading artists. Christina's singles and albums were released in Germany and Switzerland in 2005 with immediate chart success. Her most recent singles, "Engel fliegen einsam" (Angels Fly Alone) and "Mama" all received tremendous response, media recognition and high chart entries.
