Ryan JonesJune 2008
Ryan Jones is a talented young fiddler who has played with Charlie Daniels, Brian McComas, Wade Hayes, Jeff Carson, Rippletree Effect and is currently on tour with the LoCash Cowboys. Ryan uses HERCULES violin stands DS571BB and DSP57WB; guitar stands GS401B, GS412B, GS432B and GSP38WB; mic stand MS401B; music stands BS411B and BS500X; and trumpet stand DS410B. He says, "After using other violin stands, with sometimes dire consequences to my instruments, Hercules violin stands shine brilliantly above the rest for security and ease of use both on-stage and off." Ryan is a musician who’s known music throughout the better part of his life. At the young age of three Ryan picked up the violin to play classical music, only today to have immersed himself in country fiddling as well as a variety of other styles. At the age of sixteen, after years of playing in orchestras as a classical violinist, Ryan became interested in country music. Ryan credits artists like Charile Daniels and Garth Brooks for helping him extend himself to a new style of playing, country fiddling. At the Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre, this Pennsylvania native was granted the honor to play alongside the legendary Charlie Daniels in the spring of 1999. Working on a senior project at Wyoming Area High School, influenced by artists such as Charlie, Ryan played twin fiddles with him on “The South’s Gonna Do It Again.” Since that time, Ryan has had the privilege to play with Charlie on several occasions at venues in upstate New York. Most recently, in the Fall of 2003, Ryan dueled with Charlie on “Orange Blossom Special” on stage at the New York State Fair. While it’s obvious Ryan’s passion is for the fiddle, he is self taught on the guitar and mandolin as well. Unbeknownst to some, Ryan is also an accomplished trumpeter. During college Ryan was selected to play with the distinguished RIT Polished Brass Quintet - a highly selective group that plays jazz to classical music and everything in between. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York with a minor in music, Ryan has kept his schedule full with everything from touring the country, studio recording to charity events.
