Zane Carney

July 2006

HERCULES has added another artist to it's family of endorsers: up and coming jazz guitarist, Zane Carney who recently appeared on the Carson Daly show. Zane uses Hercules guitar stands GS401B and GS402B and music stand BS100B.

"My stands of choice are the GS402B and GS401B because of their portability. I run from one show to another, from one rehearsal to another, and am constantly working, so I'm very concerned with portability. And because Hercules stands are so strong and well balanced, I know my instruments are safely held."

"The BS100B is the perfect gigging musicians stand.  As far as portability is concerned, it is the best I've seen because it folds into one piece and comes with a carrying bag that is just the right size.  And even more importantly, it's sturdy enough to hold anything from a few lead sheets to a fake book which makes it an invaluable stand for the usual 4 hour jazz standard."

Zane Carney, 21, has been playing the guitar for 11 years and performing live since he was 14.  He studied music at Hamilton High School Academy of Music, and spent three summers learning jazz from the National Guitar Workshop.  After completing three semesters at the University of Southern California’s prestigious Thornton School of Music, Zane left college to pursue his career as a professional musician.  While performing he has shared the stage with artists such as Stevie Wonder, David Foster, India Arie, Byron Miller, Ronald Brunner, Armand Sabal-Lecco, Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Adam Levy, Barbara Morrison, Gary Burton, Frank McComb, Jeff Clayton, John Hamilton, John Clayton, and Jonny Lang.

Zane has worked with extremely talented and successful artists including Renee Olstead. With Renee, he was able to tour Europe, perform at the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival and record live on The Today Show and Oprah.  Zane also plays guitar and sings for Jesse McCartney, whose debut album went platinum in February 2005.  With Jesse, he has toured America, Australia, and Europe, and he has also appeared on Jay Leno, Good Morning America, Ellen and The Kid's Choice Awards in Australia.  More recently, Zane has become the musical director for Nikki Flores, whose live performances can now be seen on Yahoo Music.  Also, while touring with Renee and Jesse, Zane has been fortunate enough to perform in Spain with world-renowned bassist Armand Sabal-Lecco.

Perhaps the most exciting development for Zane is “The Revolving Band,” a group of musicians fronted by Reeve Carney of which Zane is the lead guitarist.  The Revolving Band has signed with Interscope and is set to open on Jonny Lang’s fall tour starting September 2006.

Earlier this year Zane also found one of his long term goals become fulfilled when he started performing with the Joe Firstman and the house band on Last Call with Carson Daly.  While it may not be the most popular late night show, Zane feels honored to be one of the first calls, and to be able to tape in the day and perform the music he truly loves in the evenings.

Zane looks forward to developing as a musician, and hopes that he'll be able to make a positive impact on the music scene. Visit www.magick.net/realrock/zane for more information.
